CODE OF CONDUCT REMINDER

16 August 2021 | All News

Good morning MNZ Members

It has come to my attention that recently, on social media, tempers flared after an event was postponed again in Christchurch, due to extreme weather conditions.

I think it is a timely reminder to all involved to stay calm and treat each other’s with respect.

Officials and Volunteers gift thousands of hours per year so that fellow club members and others can compete and hopefully have a fun time.

Before you speak or pound your keyboard, I ask you, is this how you would like to be spoken too or would I speak to a colleague or customer at work in this tone or manner?

If you find you have been threatened or abused to a level of concern, there are mechanisms and processes in place to deal with this via our constitution and code of conduct guidelines.

Clearly at times this is not a black and white call. Before escalating matters call your club president or MNZ official for advice or even try calming the situation.

Please respect each other
