Sound of Thunder 2022 – Cancelled

27 January 2022 | All News

The BEARS Motorcycle club committee have regrettably made the decision to cancel this year’s ‘Sound of Thunder’, which was to be held on the 26th and 27th of February 2022 at the Mike Pero Motorsport Park Ruapuna Christchurch. The BEARS committee have looked at various options to make this event happen within the National shift to the Covid Red Zone Traffic Light System but with the extra regulation that comes with this alert level and our first-hand experience and direct involvement at last year’s Sound of Thunder running under Level 3 Covid restrictions on the Sunday we could not find a way to make this an enjoyable or successful three-day event for all involved.

On a positive note, we are planning to run a club day on Sunday 27th February, subject to any further restrictions being implemented. We are currently working though the finer details (MNZ Permitting, St John ambulance availability etc.) and will release further information later next week.
