Electric Motorcycles Now Approved for Motocross

The Manual of Motorcycle Sport has been updated with rules to allow electric motorcycles to compete in MNZ permitted Motocross events.

Before competing, all electric motorcycles must be homologated to ensure compliance with the rules and technical standards.

This marks an exciting step forward for motocross in New Zealand as the sport embraces new technology and sustainability.

Please note: At this stage, only Motocross and Trials are approved disciplines of the sport where electric motorcycles may compete. Electric motorcycles cannot be entered in any other permitted events.
