FIM Oceania’s powerhouse team for inaugural FIM Intercontinental Games

FIM Oceania has named an impressive eight-rider line-up to compete in the first-ever FIM Intercontinental Games (ICG), which will be held at the iconic Jerez circuit in Spain on the weekend of November 30-December 1.

FIM Oceania will go into battle against the other five FIM Continental Unions – Latin America, North America, Africa, Asia and Europe – with the following roster:

Supersport (YZF-R7)
• Mike Jones (captain, riding number 46);
• Tayla Relph (#48);
• Tom Toparis (#47); and
• Max Stauffer (#49).

Supersport 300 (YZF-R3)
• Archie McDonald (captain, #45);
• Jesse Stroud (#44);
• Tara Morrison (#42); and
• Cameron Swain (#43).

The team manager for FIM Oceania will be Australia’s two-time World Supersport champion and now Yamaha World Superbike crew chief, Andrew Pitt.

The 48 competitors – from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, France, Germany, Italy, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Portugal, Spain, South Africa, Thailand and AMERICA – will compete on identical Yamaha YZF-R3 (Supersport 300) and Yamaha YZF-R7 (Supersport) machines over four races – two per class – to determine which of the six FIM Continental Unions will be the first to win the Games.

Each Continental Union will sport its own unique colours – green for FIM Oceania – and include at least one female competitor in each class.
